The Bobbie Henderson Legacy Horse Show

The Bobbie Henderson Legacy Horse Show is an annual celebration that brings together our community for a day of fun, learning, and giving back. This event is more than just a horse show—it’s a vital fundraiser for Sarajevo Stables, supporting our mission to rescue horses and foster healing connections between animals and people.

Join us on September 7th, 2024, from 11 AM to 2 PM, for an unforgettable day filled with activities for the whole family, including face painting, hay rides, a petting zoo, and more!

  • How long is the event expected to last?
The event is expected to last until about 2-3 PM.
  • Will there be any souvenirs or merchandise for sale?
Yes, we will have t-shirts, drinking cups, magnets, bracelets, stickers, and more available for purchase.
  • Is there an opportunity to meet and greet the horses or riders after the show?
Riders will be mingling in the crowd before and after their rides, and the horses may be greeted if they are not currently busy.
  • What should people do if they lose something at the event?
If you lose something, please reach out to our staff through Facebook Messenger at "Miracle Horses Healing Hearts at Sarajevo Stables" or email us at contact@sarajevostables.com. We will do our best to get it back to you.
  • What time should volunteers arrive, and where should they check in?
Volunteers should arrive between 10:00 and 10:30 AM unless otherwise instructed. Check-in will be at the volunteer booth near the entrance.
  • Are there any specific directions or landmarks to help people find the venue easily?
Look for a brown sign at the end of the road marked "Sarajevo Farms." Please do not confuse it with our show barn sign, which is black and marked "The Stables by Sarajevo." Once you turn in, follow the driveway down, and our team will direct you to parking.
  • Will there be any special parking accommodations for people with disabilities?
Yes, if you need handicap parking, please inform the parking attendants. We will park you close to the event. Please note that parking is on grass. However, there will be a paved drop-off area close to the event for those who need special accommodations.
  • Is there a dress code or recommended attire for the event?
No formal dress code is required. We suggest checking the weather ahead of time and wearing something comfortable—cowboy hats are always a great choice!
  • Can people make monetary donations online if they cannot attend the event?
Absolutely! You can make online donations through our donation page here.
  • Will there be any special performances or demonstrations during the event?
Yes, there will be a special demonstration by our leaders showcasing the performance level horses.
  • Are there any age restrictions for participating in specific activities?
There are no major age restrictions for most activities, but younger children (e.g., toddlers) may be turned away from certain activities like the bounce house for safety reasons.
  • Can attendees bring their own pets to the event?
We ask that you do not bring pets to the event, as they can spook the horses.
  • Are there opportunities for children to interact with the horses?
There will be a petting zoo where children can interact with various animals. Interaction with horses is allowed on an "at your own risk" basis.
  • What kind of items are most needed for the auction or donation table?
    Contact Rachael at rachael@sarajevostables.com.
  • How will the funds raised during the event be used?
The funds will directly support the care and maintenance of our horses and the overall operation of the stables. Many of our horses previously lacked proper veterinary and farrier care, and your donations help us provide that.
  • When will the silent auction items be announced?
Silent auction winners will be announced towards the end of the show. If you cannot stay for the announcement, we will reach out to you personally.
  • Are there any safety rules or guidelines attendees should be aware of?
Please follow all posted signs, and absolutely no entering horse fields without permission.
  • What is the contingency plan if the weather is severe (e.g., thunderstorms)?
We will delay the event if necessary, but will continue through light rain.
  • Can attendees share their experience on social media during the event?
Absolutely! Be sure to tag us at "Miracle Horses Healing Hearts at Sarajevo Stables."
  • Will there be an official event hashtag for social media posts?
Yes! Use #BHLHS when posting about the event.
  • Are there any incentives for bringing friends or family to the event?
Beyond enjoying the activities, food, and fun, we will also be selling merchandise goodies.
  • How can businesses or individuals sponsor the event?
If you're interested in sponsoring, please reach out to Ilana at ilana@sarajevostables.com or call 937-317-1900.
  • Will there be vegetarian or vegan food options available?
We will mostly be serving grilled meats, but there will also be chips, fruits, and sides available.
  • Can attendees bring their own food and drinks, or is outside food prohibited?
You may bring your own food, but please remember that any purchases made on-site help fund the care of the horses.
  • Are there any accommodations for attendees with disabilities?
We can accommodate drop-offs close to the event, but please note that the arena is surrounded by grass and is on a slight hill.
  • Is the venue wheelchair accessible?
While we can assist with drop-offs, the terrain may be challenging for some wheelchairs due to the grassy areas.
  • Will there be seating available for those who need it?
There will be some seating available, but we recommend bringing lawn chairs for your comfort.
  • Are service animals allowed at the event?
Yes, service animals with proper certification and well-behaved manners are welcome.
